Kyoshi Narahira Shinjo, the youngest brother of Hanshi Kiyohide Shinjo was born in 1960.He is a famous Uechi Ryu stylist. Hanshi Kiyohide Shinjo,s son Shuichi Shinjo is also famous karate Practitioner.

It was in 1995 that sensei K.V.manoharan started associating with Okinawa Uechi Ryu Karate Do Kenyukai Association.Kyoshi Alan Dollar of U.S.A.is the world representative of Uechi Ryu Karate Do Kenyukai Associatin .Sensei K.V.Manoharan was attracted to this style and invited Kyoshi Alan Dollar to visit India. Kyoshi Alan Dollar who arrived on January 22,1997 inaugurated the Indian Head Quarters of Uechi Ryu Karate Do at Koodali in Kannur Dist of Kerala. Many foreigners are visiting this Dojo to study Uechi Ryu Karate Do.Here training is given in Karate and Kobudo,Kyoshi Alan Dollar who went back after training students for 10 days and conducting Black Belt and Kyu grading.wrote many articles on the high standard of Indian students in American Print media.

UECHI RYU KARATE DO KENYUKAI CANADA

Desa School of Karate opened as a full time traditional Okinawan karate school in September 1996. After seven years in the basement of the St. Albert Rugby Club, the school (dojo) was relocated to its present location, designed and built by Sensei Manuel deSa (with much help from his students).

The main dojo, with 9000 square ft of space now includes a 3000 square ft matted workout area on the main floor and a 2000 square ft classroom on the second floor. There are spacious change rooms with shower facilities for both men and women, welcoming office space and viewing benches and bleachers for guests. Visitors are always welcome, whether it is to view a class they might be interested in taking or to just watch a friend or family member.

Having a facility open year round and designed specifically for martial arts training provides many benefits that other programs cannot offer. With staff dedicated full time to teaching and monitoring the quality of instruction and the progress of each student, it is much easier to adjust the schedule to the changing needs of the student and maintain the high standard the school is known for worldwide.

The dojo also offers community programs in Sturgeon County (where Sensei Desa first started teaching in 1994). There is an after school program at Camilla School in Riviere Qui Barre, and evening programs in both Legal and Cardiff.

In addition, the school also offers classes in traditional Okinawan weapons, known as “kobudo”. We offer special classes for 4-5 year old children (Kickstart), Ladies Self-defense workshops, and Kid Power Bully Defense, all done throughout the year. In addition special courses and workshops are set up that can be tailored to meet specific needs of different groups or organizations.

To generally do all such other acts that may be desirable or necessary and expedient to further the interest of the AKKA . To frame rules and bye laws not consistent with the constitution. . To contribute or donate funds of AKKA for the alleviation of hardship caused to people on account of this sport.

Uechi-Ryu Karate is one of a very few traditional Okinawan styles of karate that are still practiced today. Uechi-Ryu is practiced both in the UK and in numerous countries world wide. A Uechi-Ryu practitioner can be confident that he could visit any Uechi-Ryu dojo across the world and be able to fit in with the new club. Unlike so many other styles of karate, Uechi-Ryu is still taught the same across the world as it is in Okinawa; it has not been changed by numerous so called ‘experts’ who think they know better than the original Karate Masters.

This club is part of the Uechi-Ryu Karate Do Kenyukai Europe. The Kenyukai in Europe is headed by Master Takami Takayasu; one of the most respected Uechi-Ryu Masters in the world. The Kenyukai has numerous other geographical associations/clubs around the world with its Headquarters at the Dojo of Master Kiyohide Shinjo in Kadena, Okinawa. Master Shinjo is without a doubt an excellent Karate Master.
